We did some very basic kit bashing with the students last week. Jose our instructor drew the parts on the left, the students exercised their newly learned basic modelling techniques to build them, after which they used each and every single part to create quick designs Rendered them out in a toy like plastic to stay faithful with the whole Lego-like feel of the exercise.

Kai is the Co-Founder/ Managing Director of LiKStudios, a studio that provides conceptual art and illustrations for the film and gaming industry. He started out at a freelance graphic designer for ad-hoc projects in 2001. In 2006, he worked as a Matte-Painter and 2D artist at Blackmagic Design, a post production house in Singapore. He had his first taste of designing a game and producing concept arts while he worked with Yolk Interactive, a local design firm. After graduating from FZD School of Design, he became a concept designer in LucasArt Singapore where he worked on both console and casual games. Subsequently, he was head-hunted to lead an art team in Softstar Entertainment, Taiwan, working on one of their main game, Xuan Yuan Sword series. LiKStudios is his next step in his life to contribute to the art scene in Singapore, Taiwan and the rest of the world. Conceptual art is his way of bringing the imaginary world into reality.
